CIOF 2020 First General Membership Meeting and Conference Postponed Due to COVID-19 Concerns

10 March 2020 (Quezon City) – The First General Membership Meeting and Conference (GMM1) of the Chief Information Officers Forum Inc. (CIOF) scheduled for March 25, 2020 at Park Inn by Radisson, SM North EDSA, Quezon City has been postponed due to concerns about the national health emergency triggered by COVID-19.

The decision was made by the joint project management team (PMT) of the CIOF and the CIOF Foundation in a meeting held to discuss the ramifications of ongoing government measures designed to address the health emergency. It was pointed out that the health and safety of delegates and speakers are of paramount importance, and that worldwide trends pointed to the possibility of government imposing lockdowns to contain the spread of COVID-19, as already done in other countries such as China and Italy.

The PMT said the agenda for GMM1 will most likely be integrated into the National ICT Summit traditionally conducted in June every year in celebration of National ICT Month.
